Why dress up like naked?

In the beginning, Sexy no was slated to make an appearance in Nostalg*a's Ikki'07 skit. Then we realized that 4kids was not responsible for the dub. I did the costume anyway as it had become a sort of personal challenge. Pre-college I'd wear nothing but shirts three sizes too big and long pants, so this was sort of an affirmation that I'd gained some self esteem.

*eyeliner (for whiskers)

Construction

There have been many Sexy no cosplays, aka girl versions of the guys, but I went for the original, smoke and all. After some research I decided on quilt batting for my strateigic clouds as it was properly fluffy and had enough cohesivenes to form solid patches of white without trouble. For the base of the costume I got a heavy duty padded bra (for modesty's sake) and plain beige pantyhose from Wal*Mart with a pair of skintight tan shorts underneath (for legality's sake).

I then proceeded to burn my fingers getting the fluff on the bra, and it weighed a lot in sheer hot glue poundage alone, but it worked. The bottoms, however, I had to do at con not due to procrastination, but because I had to wear them to do it and I was worried about taking them on and off. Of course, if you hot glue fluff to pantyhose when you're wearing it you WILL hot glue it to your skin. The sacrifices we make for cosplay.

After I'd wandered around con a bit a security guy told me that in the State of Texas it's illegal for a bra to be showing (wtf Texas), and that I had to add more fluff, but he was very polite and awesome about it. Ikki was great on that respect, unlike say AnimeFest. Here's me pre-legality:

I really should have skipped the yellow hair color as I am already blond, but as I am a stickler for accuracy and I didn't get a wig for the length of the pigtails I decided to at least make them bright yellow. And then the spray was very, very green if the light hit it the wrong way. It's not as though it was enough to ruin the costume, but next time I won't spray my hair.

After some more fluff my clouds greatly resembled Ayla's outfit, but I was still recognizable as Sexy no Jutsu. Here's the one kinda full figure shot I got that day:

Sitting down was so hard. And yes, I did make a Sasuke plushie since I am a horrible yaoi fangirl. Originally he was going to be wearing his clothes but after they died a painful death he just got some fluff like me. The metal on his headband is made of duct tape ^^

Skit Time

As this was the first Ikki and they had twice as many people as they thought they'd have (it was so crowded it trancended annoying into a thing of beauty), and so the skits and walk-ons had to line up outside and then kinda sneak around during the other performances.

It was very cold.

My 'skit' was thought of last minute and consisted of:
Heeeeey boys~! *blows kiss* (insert vague smalltalk here), but always remember... I'm really a 12-year-old boy.

And the whole room just goes OOOOOOOOOOH she is right damnit. It was a beautiful thing X3

This particular costume has since died and gone in the burn barrel (remember, the 'pants' were pantyhose), but I plan on remaking it sometime in the next year, possibly for AnimeFest or maybe next Ikkicon. When I do I'll update this page with Sexy no v. 2.
